Day 32!

one month n ONLY one month in beijing!? noooooooooo~

ok. i FINALLY started on my revision yesterday. all i gotta do now is make sure i keep myself moving on... perhaps, after my afternoon nap today? ha.

GOAL FOR THE DAY: COMPLETE AT LEAST 2 TOPICS FOR PANDEMIC DISEASE.

jus finished another BIG n NICE banana i bought the day before! finally, nice bananas in beijing! and oh! the cherry blossoms!

Day 29~

i'm getting lazier... and lazier... that's my answer for being M.I.A (missing in action) on blogger. so don't ask, anymore. ha. i'll be too LAZY to answer u anyway...

...but, oh no, i gotta start bucking up now. exams' round the corner. first paper's on april fool's day! i hope i won't get fooled by the paper or something!

it's the period of the month, again. had a terrible night. CRAMPS. couldn't sleep. but then again, thank god the cramps came at NIGHT. can't imagine how it would be like if the cramps were to come bother me in the day. on an 8-to-5 school day. phew.

my "creative" mp4 seems to be back in shape! great. now i have one mp4 player and one mp5 player. oh! i bought a new mp5 player cos i thought my mp4's dead. but it came alive! i'm so glad it came alive. i love my mp4, though it can get crappy sometimes. and i love my mp5, too, cos... it's new? i think i'm pretty much a techy kind of person. i indulge in electronic products rather than fashion. dun ask me why. i would like to know the answer myself too. ha.

anyway, this mp5 player looks like a sony psp, but apparently it's not. it can play music, videos, text files and photos, record sounds, capture images and do video recordings with an in-built 3.0 mega pixel camera, tune in to FM radio stations... i can even play games on it! (duh~) it also contains a TF card slot, which means i get to enjoy AT LEAST 4GB of memory space! now that is important because this player is also a gaming device. with only 4GB of memory space i can't store much songs, videos, photos and games.

~they turned off the heater! i'm cold. i'm freezing. i can't feel my fingers and toes. guess it's time to bring out those heat packs again.~

bought train tickets to xi'an. yea, i'll be visiting xi'an with weining, liling, and jocelyn after our last paper for the term, on the 8th of April. i'm excited. and i'm scared. i've NEVER taken a train before. not talking about the MRT here. but yea. i hope i dun get train-sick cos it's gonna be a 12-hour journey from beijing to xi'an! wish me all the best. i'll VERY MUCH appreciate it. hee.

Day 24~

now i understand why ADDICTION is bad. nothing interests u anymore except for the one thing that you're hooked to. i've been spending all my time on HOUSE, and neglecting my other loves like xinmsn, facebook, blogger, computer games etc... however, there's one good thing about ME being a HOUSE addict. i have fallen in LOVE with my studies, and i am ACTUALLY looking forward to attending lessons everyday!

it feels GREAT to be in love with whatever you're doing. i hope this feeling won't disappear as time goes by, cos i need this motivation to survive the next 1+ years in beijing~

one fine day i decided (actually, i didn't have a choice) to go "western" on my meals by having no rice on my plate, jus potato, carrot, and chicken. it was delicious. but it made me crave for tea and supper an hour later. no wonder they say rice = staple food for asians.

jus yesterday, my "creative" mp4 decides to charge itself, UN-plugged. amazing huh? charging itself... with itself. that's suicidal. but better off that way. cos the only way to get it back to NORMAL would be to wait till it shuts down COMPLETELY.

finished one bag of milk powder this week. that leaves me with 2 bags right now. i think i'd better start rationing all my made-in-singapore food before they start running out in no time~

Day 21?

ok. i've lost count. if 7th march was day 15, then i suppose 13th march is day 21? haha. the internet connection's crazy. i've been kept away from blogger and facebook for close to a week now! finally, i'm back. so, be prepared for a long, long, looooonnnnnnng post today~

i'm hooked to HOUSE M.D. recently. it's an american medical tv series. used to be on channel 5 long time ago, but i NEVER enjoyed a single episode of it. probably because i dun understand what's going on then. furthermore, i'm always uncomfortable with medical series. makes me paranoid. ha. but now, as a medical student (sort of), a medical series interests me. besides, the show has got interesting characters in it. Dr. Greg. House especially, the main character in the show. he is no ordinary doctor. a genius - smart but crazy. that leads to the interesting relationship between him and his boss, Dr. Lisa Cuddy. i love the way they bicker, n i'm pretty sure they will end up together (as in all other tv drama series - couples bicker, then they get together)...

there are 7 seasons of HOUSE M.D. in total (s0 far). we're still stuck in season 2... which means, we have a lot of catch-up to do! haha. and of course, xinmsn! i've already missed xinmsn for a week! i think i'd better start a bit of catching up before the videos are gone from the site!

i'm a boring person happy with a boring life... so nothing out of the ordinary this week. except, i went on an excursion with weining and liling yesterday, to 大观园. i heard it's the place where 红楼梦 was filmed. pretty nice place. nicer than the forbidden city i would say. peaceful and quiet. actually, we went there for the cherry blossoms. but to our dismay, no cherry blossoms. only flower buds and fake flowers. well, 无缘啊~ hahaha.

didn't have proper lunch. ate at 翠河小栈, a restaurant opened by a singaporean, serving singaporean food!! yum yum... i had 干炒牛河 from this restaurant the night before (weining 打包-ed it for me). it was... edible? ha. n yesterday, i had fishball noodles. i would say, i'd still prefer OUR fishball noodles, cos their fishball noodles' WHITE and not yellow. it tastes different. but still, better than the local chinese food. so, why am i complaining!? hahaha. tried a bit of laksa and fried hokkien mee too. it's satisfying. but the best part of our quest in search of singaporean food in beijing, was the discovery of ROTI PRATA which tasted like roti prata! FINALLY!! oh gosh, we should have 打包-ed more home... hahaha~

DAILY THOUGHTS:

i pulled/tore a muscle one afternoon during a nap. it was PAINFUL. for a moment i thought i broke my arm. thank god i didn't. again, mummy recommended her YOKO-YOKO and my arm is working fine again! CONCLUSION: dun do yoga while u're sleeping. and if u, by any chance, injure a muscle, try YOKO-YOKO. it works! actually, i was trying to say, listen to ur mums and nothing will go wrong, cos mums are always right~

lack of self-discipline and laziness's gonna screw up one's life. grow up kid. u're 23.

if i want to be a doctor, i need to be brave. i need a strong mind. but i don't. either i give up thinking about being a doctor, or i'm gonna force myself to be stronger.

i once aspired to be a teacher. i also once aspired to be a social worker. in fact, my aspirations keep changing. singer, actor, photographer, director, cop, doctor, cab driver, bus driver, cd/dvd retailer... i'm 23 and i dun even know what i really want in life. then one day i realise i have a strong desire to perform. maybe i should go act. then i can keep up with my forever changing aspirations with the different roles i play. ha.

people need self-confidence to have a mind of their own. i lack self-confidence, that's why i think everyone in the world except me is right. but they could be wrong. great, i'm starting to feel a bit more confident in myself.

Day 15~

monday blues 本来没有那么严重, but this morning we were told that tomorrow's morning lesson will be brought forward to this afternoon!! haiz i thought i can take a nice nap when i get home... 想不到下午还得回去学校上课!!

never mind lar... 往好的方面去想. 今天把明天的课上完, 明天早上就不用那么早起了嘛!! so, i joined a few of my classmates (including daphne) for dinner at 汉拿山, a korean restaurant near school!

there are 7 of us altogether. the other 3's sitting opposite us,
where the "camera-girl" is. hahaha.

it's like seoul garden lar, but not buffet style... that means u have to order what u want... we ordered a seafood platter, beef, pork (五花肉), chicken, and kimchi pancake!! i like the kimchi pancake the most, followed by the beef and the chicken! after we finished eating, they even served us watermelon and ice cream for free!! yeah so happy =]

then, we visited a bakery nearby, called 85 degrees... heard that the bread they sell taste nicer than 味多美 (the bakery downstairs), so i jus went in to kpo lor... and i found SWISS ROLL!! wah i miss this man... hardly get to see this in beijing, not like in singapore where u can find it EVERYWHERE~ i also bought some cookies for weining and liling... too bad liling got diarrhea and weining dunno busy with what in her room... that means they can only try the cookies tomorrow lor! hahaha~ meanwhile i shall try my SWISS ROLL while skyping tonight!!

Day 14~

OMG!! i woke up at 11:45AM today!! hahaha~

very lazy to cook today, so i 叫外卖 instead... ordered 牛肉炒面, cos when i saw it in the menu it kind of reminded me of hong kong cafe's 牛肉炒面... but as u can see, they are 2 different dishes lar... so disappointing =[ bo bian lar, still have to eat mah... hahaha~

only managed to watch last friday's episode of 《乐在双城》and 《我猜》... something's wrong with my xinmsn today... sad... i miss 吴宗宪!! hahaha~ spent the rest of the day learning some new songs! 《没那么简单》,《破天荒》, 《突然好想你》and 《子曰》... i think i learn songs faster than i learn my school stuff... hahaha!! less than a day know how to sing le... wahahaha~

actually i saved another half portion of my 牛肉炒面 for dinner (because 太大份了啦!! remember the 炒饭 i ordered long time ago? their one serving i can 当两餐吃咯!!) but since weining prepared dinner for all of us, i shall "sacrifice" my 牛肉炒面 for home-cooked food!! hahaha~ sorry~

Day 13~

wanted to nua till 太阳晒到屁股才起床, but weining and liling tempted me to go out with them... and so i did... hahaha! 海淀五道口, here we come~

actually we 约好 to visit 五道口 today like a few days ago? but cos i too lazy le, somemore 海淀 is so far away from 丰台 (area where we're staying), i a bit sian mah, so i told weining i want to continue sleeping, dun want to go le... but aiyah, if i dun go out with them i will be all alone at home leh, so in the end, i still went lar... hahahaha!! actually got direct bus from our house, so not that bad... that kind stephy will like one lor... one hour bus trip, got seats, somemore dun have to walk to destination... it's DIRECT bus ok!!!

when we reached 五道口, we first visited this KOREAN supermarket... this supermarket is like the one at tampines1... everything they sell is korean stuff... saw this very cute cornflake box, dunno what the words say, but still bought it in the end... lol! i also bought something else. 猜猜那是什么?

after lunch, we went to walk walk around that area... got shopping centre, inside got BHG!! omg i miss BHG... but i only bought a pair of purple stockings for mummy not in the shopping centre, but in a shopping place which sells korean stuff... eh mummy, your stockings' imported from korea ok!! dun play play... hahaha~
